The Knights of Columbus Council #13181 helped pay for repairs to the brick stairs that had been degraded by salt and ice, and then we built new stair tread covers to protect them in the future.

The Knights of Columbus Council #13181 would like to congratulate our 2019 scholarship recipients who received their scholarship checks after successfully completing their first semester of college.  Pictured below with Grand Knight Robert Michaud are:  Xavier Michaud, Casey Dion, and Catherine Daigle.  Not pictured is Rachel Gilbert.

Mark your calendars for the District 10 Knights of Columbus Bean Supper on October 12, 2019 at Holy Cross.  See the flier below for more details:

On June 22, 2019, our Council repainted the sacristy at Our Lady of the Rosary.  For those who have been in the sacristy, they can attest to how dingy the walls looked, especially after getting stained form some recent roof leaks.  With the roof repaired, the new paint really brightened the room up.  Below are some before and after photos.

Congratulations to our 2018 Scholarship recipients - Matthew Plante and Sydney Drew!  Matthew is continuing his engineering education at Maine Maritime, and Sydney is going to pursue secondary education at Husson College.

Congratulations to our 2016 Scholarship recipients.  Pictured left to right are Jacob Folster, Alexandre Michaud and Matthew Plante, receiving their $500 scholarship checks from Robert Michaud, Grand Knight.  Jacob graduated from Lewiston HS and is enrolled at Central Maine Community College with plans to transfer to Maine Maritime Academy.  Alexandre graduated from St. Dominic Academy and is studying Chemical Engineering at Clarkson University.  Matthew graduated from Oak Hill HS and is studying Engineering at Maine Maritime Academy.  .

Congratulations to our 2015 Scholarship recipients.  Vanessa Wright and Benjamin Caprara both received $500 scholarships and were awarded their checks after the completion of their first college semester.  Vanessa graduated from Oak Hill HS and  is attending Central Maine Community College.  Ben graduated from Winthrop HS and is attending the University of Maine at Orono.

In September of 2013, the Sabattus Knights of Columbus Council #13181, along with a generous parishioner, donated funds to replace the rear roof of the Maxwell-Gill Hall.  This roof was estimated to be over 30 years old and was beginning to leak in places.  Had it gone much longer without replacement, the interior of the hall was in danger of significant water damage.  The new roof will greatly extend the life of the hall.  The contractor, Gladu Roofing, is also a member of our Council.

We owe a debt of gratitude to all those who have supported our fund raising efforts throughout the years - from the monthly Bean Suppers to our annual Chicken BBQ’s, the proceeds from these events are put to good use with projects such as this new roof, our scholarship program, other improvements to the church  and community support.
